The Singapore Turf Club provides selections for Sunday's racing ...
RACE 1
Lady Shark (2) has not found the line in more than two years, but she has been in good form of late. Ran second at her last run. Can go one better here. Real Hero (4) won by a big margin at his last outing despite jumping from a wide gate. Will be tackling a better grade this time but having drawn stall gate one, can still give a good account of himself. Always A Winner (9) is on the quick back-up. Ran fairly last time out. Drawn wide, but he is still in with a chance in this moderate affair. Tim (5)will be getting back to an easier grade. Can expect him to improve on his last run and make the board.
RACE 2
Chopin's Nocturne (3) lost no marks at his debut two starts ago against a strong field led by the talented Super One. He improved further with a second placed finish at his next race. A top performance is on the cards. Marine Treasure (8) narrowly lost out to finish second at his last outing. Has been in good form of late and can hold on for a top three finish. One More Achiever (11) has been improving over his last two runs. Good for placings. Grey Gatsby (5) was held up for a run at his last start and had to be switched out wide in search of clear room. Ran on fairly. Deserves another chance.
RACE 3
Super Joe (6) has found one better at his last two outings in lower grade. Takes on stronger opposition but with the small weight on his back, he should be able to measure up. Leading contender. City Of Kirkwall (1) has been in excellent form this year, saluting three times in five runs bar his last start when he ran unplaced. Has drawn well and could return to form with a top performance. Big say. Brad (4) has failed to place only once in his last four outings. Should again finish in the money. Noted frontrunner Bob (3) will likely lead in spite of his wide gate. He can hold on to a place if left on his own.
RACE 4
Certainly (4) ran on to finish a top second on debut. Extra 100m suits. Good gate. Horse to beat. Steed Expedite (2) has improved since donning pacifiers. Is well placed to run into the placings in this moderate field. Probably (3) scored an impressive seven-length win at a barrier trial in April. Has yet to reproduce that form although her last start was a marked improvement. Can place at value. Satellite Star (7) has yet to impress after some average performances. However, he was not beaten all that far behind at his last two starts, which may suggest he can get something out of this small field. Blinkers on for the first time.
RACE 5
Snitzel Spirit (2) comes into this race on the back of a win and two seconds but over 1400m. He was placed the only other time he ran the mile. If he has things his way, he could land the money here. Blinkers on in place of winkers. Impressive last-to-first debut winner Imperial March (3) did not quite reproduce the same form second-up. Still looks good and can atone. Twodollarmuppet (8) is on the quick back-up. Will be stepping up in class but with six kilos less to carry, he can measure up. Merits consideration. Blinkers on. Gold Hill (7) caught the eye flashing home late for third at his last start. Should still be able to sneak into the minors.
RACE 6
Geeson Master (2) will appreciate the drop to maiden company. Ran on for third at his last start. Respect. Flying Neko (10) has been making ground of late. Has not done too badly over the mile and can run a place. Zenzero (8) ran a forward race for third at his last start. Has drawn barrier one again and a repeat performance could see him make the board. Lim's Battle (5) almost made the podium at his last outing. He was fitted with blinkers on that occasion and will have the same gear here. Wide draw should not bother him as he comes from behind. Can be included in the calculations.
RACE 7
Time After Time (4) raced handy at his last start but could only run second. Tackles same trip and surface. Worth another shot. Gypsy Magic (1) ran on well for third at his last start over same trip. Another bold showing expected. Winfrey (10)finished unplaced at his last outing. He can be excused as he was bumped at the start. Previous form was quite good. Can run a place. Pure White (5) has ability but is hard to catch. Just finished outside the placings at his last start. Outside chance. Winkers on.
RACE 8
Timo (2) stormed home late to salute comfortably at his debut run. Highly promising and could take some beating. Solid claims. Rafaello (8) scored at his last start. This time, with the luxury load of 51 kilos on his back, he will be even more competitive. Big chance. Shanghai Bund (3) has finished on the board in five of his six runs. May improve with blinkers on for the first time. Satchmo (6) ran a creditable third at his debut last time out. Will appreciate the additional 200m. Not without a say in this.
RACE 9
Daniel (1) resumed from an eight month break to score at his last start fresh up. Has drawn well and is expected to produce another top showing. Darci Charmer (7) is looking for a hat-trick of wins in as many starts. Drops four and a half kilos for the race. Will be there at the business end. Affleck (6) will be at his second outing in an Open category race. Did not measure up against seasoned campaigners at his last start, but trainer felt he did not concentrate enough in the running. Manoel Nunes takes over and pacifiers are added for the first time. Strong claims. Gold Rutile (5) ran a neck-second to Accomplished at her last start. Has a good record over this trip and will give a good account of herself. Respect.
RACE 10
Jimmy Rea (2) is back in trip from the mile to 1200m, a distance he is unbeaten over in five runs. Strong claims for the top spot. Hermano Menor (6) led from barrier to post at his last two starts. With almost no weight on his back this time, he could be hard to catch if he gets a soft lead. Perpetual bridesmaid Fraajilistic (5) has only scored once but found one better six times in his eight appearances. He has pace and drawing marble one will help him dictate terms in front. Can be included in the calculations. All three of Flak Jacket's (4) wins came over this journey. The on-pacer has finished in the money three times in his last four runs and is not without a say in this.
RACE 11
Great Sun (2) scored at his last start despite having drawn wide. Has shown good form in his last few races and looks good for back-to-back wins. Top chance. Easy Easy (8) has also scored at his last start. He will be tackling a higher grade but having a postage-stamp load on his back helps. Mastermind (6) ran a solid third first-up from a four-month spell. Will strip fitter second-up. Can finish on the board. Speedy Dragon (5) is returning from an eight-month spell. Recent trials were so-so but his easy win from start to finish prior to his spell was impressive. Due respect should still be given.
