Six Down, Six to Go
29 June, 2014
It is hard to believe that the Singapore racing season will reach its half way point this weekend. Racing to a calendar year, the season in Singapore (unlike New Zealand) concludes on 31 December.
After another winning double on Friday evening at Kranji, Te Akau Singapore trainer Mark Walker has moved to third on the competitive Trainers' Premiership table.
In just his third season last year, Mark was runner up to multiple Premiership winner Laurie Laxon. It is only a matter of time until we think Mark will claim a Singapore Trainers' title to compliment the five Trainers' Premierships he won in New Zealand.
Mark has prepared 30 winners (eight in arrears of the Premiership leader) with 33 runners up and 32 third placegetters - $2 million in stakes' earnings for our owners looks close by.
A great season thus far for Mark and Julia, Gus and Karen and the team.
