Six Head South

The Informant writes:

Te Akau trainers Stephen Autridge and Jamie Richards will be sending a team of horses south early this week to begin their spring preparations.

“Six of them will go today Monday and they will be based at Riccarton,” Te Akau principal David Ellis said.

“Among them will be Windborne, who will run at Riccarton on Saturday and Vive La Difference, who ran third in a Group Two race last time out. She will be set for the fillies and mares' race, the Valachi Downs Breeders' Stakes, during Cup week.”

Windborne won two of her four starts last term, including the Listed Murdoch Newell Stakes, while Vive La Difference has one victory to her credit and was turned out after she placed in the Championship Stakes at Ellerslie behind Werther and Exquisite Jewel.
