Spare a Thought

It's 4am and already every light is on at the Te Akau Stable in Matamata. It's a hive of equine and human activity as the day's business of caring for our horses unfolds. Rain, hail, sleet or frost - our precious horses have to be fed, worked and tended - it is for Te Akau a 24 hour a day, seven day a week operation - one driven by our passion to succeed for our owners.
We have an incredible team at Matamata working with Jason - skilled and truly dedicated individuals - Pam is currently in Brisbane (sure these will make you shiver Pam) looking after Costa Viva and Precious Time who both race this Saturday. There is also another contingent of Te Akau-ites who have managed to find their way to the warmer climes of Queensland too - yes we know, there is a sale!
Today Stacey Bridgman was once again at the track bright and early to capture the scenes as soon as it was light enough to snap ... main picture Jewels Gift ...
