Sparkling Addition

What a great thrill it was recently when Sir Peter Vela announced that his Encosta de Lago filly out of Group 1 winning mare Grand Echezeaux was to be trained by Te Akau Racing.

This filly is one of the best yearlings that Pencarrow Stud has ever bred and we are just so proud that he has decided he wants Te Akau to train her.

This is a beautifully bred filly and is a half sister to three horses at stud - Darci Brahma, Burgundy and Saperavi.  Her dam was an Oaks' winner and this is the same family of the international stars Ethereal (her statue at Pencarrow Stud pictured) and Romanee Conti.

This year we purchased the O'Reilly colt out of Grand Echezeaux for $370,000 - he was fully sold in 10 days and we now have a waiting list for him.
