Speed by Name, by Nature

God's Speed lived up to his name in fine fashion at Kranji on Friday night and provided yet another winner for Te Akau Singapore trainer Mark Walker.

The win by the American bred son of Circular Quay was the second in his career, with both of his career wins coming since his transfer to Te Akau Singapore's stable late last November 2013.

In his 13 starts since that time, not only has he twice saluted the judge but he has also been very consistent with four fourth placings to his credit.

On Friday the 4YO gelding was ridden by top international hoop Corey Brown carrying 57.5kgs in the $35,000 Class 5 affair.  The Australian jockey has recently been re-awarded a licence to ride for the next season in Singapore and is a frequent rider for Te Akau at Kranji.

After jumping well, Brown had God's Speed sitting handily placed in third for most of the running and when the brakes came off with about 200m to run, the win was secured in a gutsy fashion.

Raced by great supporters of our Singapore stable in Toast Trusts together with Chua Boon Kang, God's Speed has now won $57,363 in prizemoney.

After racing on Friday night - Mark Walker has now hit 46 wins for the season with a massive 55 runners up and 52 third placegetters.  Te Akau Singapore's stakes' earnings have reached close to $2.4 million in another very strong season.  The 2014 season actually is close to over and concludes on 31 December.
