Straight to Singapore

A popular syndicate that Te Akau has created is our "Straight to Singapore" Syndicate - we have put another together out of the Karaka Sale.

This year our first syndicate involves the following two yearlings:

Lot 122 a Star Witness / Marie Doree colt purchased for $100,00

Lot 179 a Pins /Petit Verdot colt purchased also for $100,000.

These two colts have the pedigrees that will suit Singapore racing to a tee in our view and Mark Walker said at the sale "I really love both of these colts and have labelled them for this syndicate.  I can't wait to have them in our Singapore stable!"

As these two colts will be exported, there is no GST on their purchase price.

Imagine - every maiden race is now worth $75,000 and the costs are on a par with racing in New Zealand.

A 20% share in these two colts will cost you $40,000
A 10% share in these two colts will cost you $20,000
A 5% share in these two colts will cost you $10,000

Karyn and I have found that it is great fun racing in Singapore - to go racing there, you leave on the 11.00am flight and arrive in Singapore about 6.00pm - have a cold beer (or wine!!), dinner and early night and go racing the next day.

We have taken an owners' tour to Singapore for the last two years and it has been a really fun experience.  We will be doing this again in 2015 as our owners love racing there.
