TAB Bookies under Spell
14 August, 2014
The Informant reports today:
She may have only just scraped into the 14-horse field, but the classy Spellbinder is rated the early favourite for Saturday's Gr. 3 Lisa Chittick Foxbridge Plate at Te Rapa.
Spellbinder is the $4.50 choice in the TAB's fixed-odds market for the Foxbridge. The four-year-old daughter of O'Reilly won the Soliloquy Stakes and Karaka 3yo Mile last year and was placed in the 1000 Guineas and Sir Tristram Fillies' Classic. The Jason Bridgman-trained mare is reportedly in top-notch condition and will be ridden by regular pilot Matt Cameron.
I Do is the $6 second favourite in her bid to deliver a popular victory, with resuming Group One winners Veyron, Xanadu and Viadana all between $7.50 and $8.50.
Whosyourmaster is next at $10, with the in-form Spin Doctor at $12 and last year's winner Postmans Daughter at $16.
Graeme and Debbie Rogerson's high-class mares Soriano and Costume, who both trialled well last week, are rated $18 and $21 chances respectively.
Pussy O'Reilly is also at $21, ahead of The Filly, Brave Centaur, Iamishwara and the intriguing Pure Champion, all at $26.
The remainder of the field, all struggling to get a run off the ballot, are at $31 or higher.
