Te Akau 2YOs Far & Wide

www.racingnews.co.nz reports that Te Akau Racing will have three juveniles stepping out at three venues today - Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch:

Te Akau two-year-old runners will span all three New Zealand venues on Saturday.

As well as Listed Anuka Smoker Wellesley Stakes (1000m) contender Queen Of The Air ( immediately below), Matamata trainers Stephen Autridge and Jamie Richards will produce impressive Riccarton debut winner Avantage (main photo) in the NZB Insurance Pearl Series 2YO (800m) at the same track on Saturday and Exceed And Excel colt Al Hasa contests the Cure Kids 880m at Ellerslie.

A trial winner and trials placed in two public appearances, Al Hasa (below) is a $625,000 Karaka yearling purchase out of Group One performer Oasis Rose and will have the services of Cameron Lammas on debut.

"He's a high-priced yearling that we have a good opinion of. He's trialled well and his work has been spot on," Richards said.

"Avantage is going well. She was a bit green in her action in that first win so we've changed things around with her and put the side winkers on. She'll also go into the gates with a barrier blanket to help get her away from the barriers a bit cleaner."
