Te Akau 5 Win Saturday

It was the second consecutive Saturday that Te Akau Racing owners celebrated five wins on the day - again four in New Zealand (three at our home track of Matamata and one at Awapuni), and one in Singapore.

Our four-win Saturday sees Te Akau New Zealand trainer Mark Walker well clear on the New Zealand Trainers' Premiership with 54 wins (a lead of 34 wins).

The stable also leads the way on prize money as the only stable to have exceeded $1 million in domestic stakes' earnings this season, the total currently $1.3 million.  Te Akau has produced four Group/Listed winners already this season in New Zealand, again more than any other stable domestically.

The four winners in New Zealand were Time Flies, Hero Worship, Sophisticardo and She's Outrageous, with Deception saluting the judge in Singapore for Fortuna Racing.

Our Singapore stable is locked in a down-to-the-wire battle for Trainers Premiership honours with five meetings remaining in the season.  Currently our Te Akau Singapore trainer Donna Logan sits on 56 winners (with a whopping 61 second and 61 third placings) - tied for the lead, but leading the Premiership on count back with second placings included.

The season ends in Singapore at the end of November and to date, Te Akau Racing Singapore has won S$2.7 million in prize money.  This equates to approx. NZD $3.35 million - what a great result for our owners who race there.

A maiden/noice race in Singapore is currently worth about NZD$91,000 so it's a terrific place to race horses.  We will be having Singapore Owners' adventure again too in 2023.

Donna has recently been to Australia and we have shares available in two very promising two year olds who will head to Singapore soon for their racing careers.  Shares have been very popular and we will have only 50% available in each of these two young geldings.  More to come!
