2.10 a.m. (NZ time) R3 4 Torcedor (6 g Fastnet Rock - Magnolia Lane) - Colm O'Donoghue; has drawn barrier three of six in the Longines Sagaro Stakes (Gr. 3, 3200m), for a purse of NZ$66,000 to the winner. His form prior to a glitch in the Dubai World Cup (Gr. 2, 3200m) was particularly good, finishing second to Order of St George (Galileo) in both the Qipco Long Distance Cup (Gr. 2, 3200m) and Irish St Leger (Gr. 1, 2816m) at The Curragh. News:
Torcedor tops field of six for Sagaro Stakes
Irish raider Torcedor is one of six runners in the Longines Sagaro Stakes at Ascot on Wednesday.
Jessica Harrington's charge claimed the scalp of Order Of St George in the Vintage Crop Stakes at Navan last spring and chased home the same horse in both the Irish St Leger and Long Distance Cup later in the season.
He trailed home last of 16 runners on his first start of 2018 in the Dubai Gold Cup at Meydan, but sets the standard in this two-mile Group Three on his previous form.
