11:42 a.m. R1 3 Balance Of Power (5 g Almanzor – Respin) – Courtney Barnes; he ran home resolutely for third after travelling three-wide with cover in the $35,000 Rating 75 1600 metres on 20 June at Riccarton, also with Courtney aboard, and contests the corresponding race. With four wins to 2000 metres, he brings an improving form-line to today’s assignment, and rates a first three chance. Fixed odds: $5.00 & $1.65.

2:02 p.m. R5 4 Hooray For Harry (4 g Harry Angel – Here We Come) – Triston Moodley (a1); he was only swamped late for sixth after racing on the pace in the $35,000 Rating 75 1200 metres on 20 June at Riccarton in the hands of the same rider, and takes on the corresponding event. A two-time winner over 1200 metres on soft and heavy ground, he has raced well here previously, and he has the right form to prove competitive in this field. Fixed odds: $4.80 & $1.85.
