Te Akau Auckland Preview

Te Akau New Zealand has one horse entered for the nine-race premier programme on Saturday June 1 at Ellerslie.

As at 8:43am on Thursday May 30 the conditions were: showery and Heavy11, rail out 3 metres.

3:40pm R8 4 Thrive (5 m Colombia - Trove) - Daniel Miller (a4); resumed from a 191-day break on May 11 in the weight-for-age Rotorua Stakes (Listed, 1400m) for fillies and mares. Run in 1:26.8 to indicate better footing than the Heavy10 rating, she was last as the field quickened inside the 600 metres and in a notable performance ran home nicely for sixth. Claiming weight relief to 54kgs with the stable apprentice aboard in the Benchmark 85 1600 metres, she finished third over 1400 metres on Slow8 at the corresponding meeting last year and three of her four wins have been recorded on heavy ground.
