Te Akau Avondale ANZAC Day Preview

Te Akau Racing has four horses entered on Tuesday 25 April at Avondale.

Weather: showery, track: Soft7, rail: out 3 metres. No rain forecast.

1:08 p.m. R1 3 Inca Belle (3 f Per Incanto - Belle Vie) - Michael McNab; remained unbeaten in three starts when resuming in the 3YO 1200 metres on 18 March at Tauranga, before getting along way back and finishing sixth in the 3YO 1200 metres on 1 April at Awapuni. Drawn the ace, she appears suited stepping in distance for the $14,000 3YO 1400 metres and rates a top three chance.

1:08 p.m. R1 4 Bello Mio (3 g Deep Field - Bella Francesca) - Joe Kamaruddin (a); raced alongside Inca Belle (above) and finished fifth when resuming in the 3YO 1200 metres on 1 April at Awapuni, and contests the $14,000 3YO 1400 metres. In January, he finished strongly for fifth to stable-mate Maven Belle (Burgundy) in the Almanzor Trophy (Gr. 3, 1200m) and rates a top three chance from barrier four.

1:38 p.m. R2 3 Ragamuffin (4 g Belardo - Short Tale) - Joe Kamaruddin (a); held together running on solidly for close fourth when trialling here on 11 April, and resumes in the $14,000 Rating 75 1200 metres. Off scene for 12 months, so expected to improve for run, but winner of two from six to 1400 metres and capable of good effort with decent trip from barrier nine.

2:38 p.m. R4 12 Prismatic (4 g Savabeel - Kaleidoscope) - Jess Allen (a4); held spot nicely over sprint trip for fourth when trialling here on 11 April, and resumes in the $14,000 Rating 65 1400 metres. During previous campaign, he capped a hat-trick of seconds with success over 2200 metres at Awapuni, set to step in trip but appears capable of solid fresh-up performance with weight relief to 54kg.
