Te Akau Avondale Preview

Te Akau New Zealand has two horses entered for the seven race programme on Wednesday 9 March at Avondale.

As on Tuesday March 8 the conditions were: fine and Dead4, rail true.

4.55 p.m. R6 2 Astrid (4 m Pins - Astralita) - Matt Cameron; was tentative in off ground before closing strongly for fourth to subsequent winner Emily Monk (O'Reilly) in the $30,000 Rating 75 1400 metres on February 13 at Te Rapa, and steps up in distance to a mile. The trip should suit and despite the weight impost (59.5kgs) she rates a strong chance.

5.25 p.m. R7 12 Stella Di Paco (3 f Paco Boy - Savabeel Star) - Cameron Lammas; finished strongly into third behind inform galloper Hunapo (Elusive City) when trialling over 935 metres on February 23 at Cambridge, and resumes off 179 days in the Rating 65 1200 metres. Winner of the Castletown Stakes (Listed, 1200m) in May, she has the ability to give some cheek in this field.
