11:55 a.m. R1 8 Luvabeel (4 m Savabeel – O’Lovely) – Opie Bosson; she continued her good form when closing strongly from beyond midfield, recording the fastest last 600m (35.3) for second in the Maiden 1600 metres on 22 October at Te Aroha, and contests the $18,500 Maiden 2100 metres. Her grand-dam Lovetrista (Rock Of Gibraltar) won the Group 2 Waikato Cup (2400m), she has the fitness levels to handle this trip, and has drawn (3) to rate a top three chance. Fixed odds: $1.65 & $1.10.

1:04 p.m. R3 8 Arctic Jewel (3 f Frosted – Miss Gem) – Opie Bosson; she began well to travel handily on the inner, led at the 200m mark, and kept up a strong gallop to win a trial on 23 October at Ellerslie. Debuting in the $18,500 Maiden 3YO 1200 metres, she is the first foal from a mare that won three races to 1800 metres in Australia. She has natural talent and has got the barrier (6) to prove competitive first-up. Fixed odds: $3.90 & $1.80.
