Te Akau Awapuni Anzac Day Preview





Te Akau New Zealand has six horses racing on Anzac Day (25 April) at Awapuni.





As on Wednesday 24 April the conditions were: fine and Dead6, rail out 2.5 metres. No rain forecast.





2.15 p.m. R3 1 Richard of Yorke(7 g Oasis Dream - Cascata) - Joe Kamaruddin (a4); closed solidly from last, clocking a faster last 600m (35.3) than the winner when resuming in the Rating 72 1600 metres on 7 April at Pukekohe, following two trials. A winner over 2400 metres at Royal Ascot, Sandown, and Randwick, he provides the Te Akau apprentice with his first ride and weight relief to 55kgs should assist him finding the line in the $11,000 Rating 72 1600 metres.





2.45 p.m. R4 7 Enduring Love(3 f Camelot - Holy Moly) - Rosie Myers; produced a notable effort for third after racing keenly in the trail on 10 April in the Maiden 1200 metres at Woodville, having raced solidly in some strong fields. Deserving of success, she rates a top three chance in the $10,000 Maiden 3YO 1200 metres.





2.45 p.m. R4 11 Dolce Amore(3 f Sebring - Irish Belle) - Joe Kamaruddin (a4); has finished third in her last three trials and debuts in the $10,000 Maiden 3YO 1200 metres. A half-sister to Telegraph Handicap (Gr. 1, 1200m) winner Irish Fling (Darci Brahma) and impressive winner Princess Belle (Darci Brahma), she is assisted by weight relief to 51.5kgs and drawing barrier three. 





3.15 p.m. R5 3 Pacific Coast(4 g Snitzel - Malibu Road) - Johnathan Parkes; freshened following three wins from nine starts and kicked off with a notable sixth in a strong field for the $11,000 Rating 72 1200 metres on 7 April at Pukekohe. Capable of taking up a handy position, he rates a top three chance in the corresponding event. 





3.45 p.m. R6 14 Dundeel's Girl(3 f Dundeel - Mirovaya) - Johnathan Parkes; finished nicely for second after a good trip in third here on debut in the Maiden 3YO 1200 metres on 5 April, and appears ideally suited to a step in distance for the $10,000 Maiden 1400 metres, from barrier three. 





4.46 p.m. R8 12 Witchery(4 m Savabeel - Now the World) - Johnathan Parkes; produced a good effort for third on testing slow ground in the Rating 65 1400 metres on 12 April at Rotorua, after making ground for fourth (last 600m 33.7) on a steady pace in the NZB Pearl Series Rating 65 1600 metres on 15 March at Te Aroha. She dashed into second here on 1 March in the $10,000 Rating 65 1400 metres and appears a good chance from barrier three in the corresponding event.
