Te Akau Awapuni Friday Preview

Te Akau New Zealand has three horses racing on Friday 13 November at Awapuni.

Weather: fine, track: Dead5, rail: true from 800m to 400m, remainder out 8 metres - using inside bend. No rain forecast.

1.30 p.m. R2 6 Amarelinha  (3 f Savabeel - Hopscotch) - Danielle Johnson; won impressively when trialling on 3 September at Te Teko, and again, untouched, on 27 October at Taupo. From the family of Rosehill Guineas (Gr. 1, 2000m) winner and Australian Champion Three-Year-Old Metal Bender (Danasinga), she has gate speed to situate handily and ideally placed to threaten on debut in the $10,000 Maiden 3YO 1200 metres.

2.40 p.m. R4 5 She's Not Bad  (6 m He's Remarkable - Andra) - Danielle Johnson; ended her previous campaign finishing third in the Rating 82 1200 metres on Auckland Cup Day (7 March) at Ellerslie, and following two trials she resumes in the $32,500 Open 1200 metres. A course/distance winner and five from 14 overall, she meets a few race hardened opponents but should go well from barrier two.

3.50 p.m. R6 10 Reiko  (4 m Reliable Man - Lady Eiko) - Danielle Johnson; ran good time (34.6) finishing strongly for fifth when resuming in the Rating 65 1300 metres in September at Tauranga, and unable to sprint on Slow8 in the Rating 65 1400 metres on 17 October at Hastings. She can bounce back as a top four chance in the $22,500 Rating 65 1200 metres.
