Te Akau New Zealand has four horses racing on Thursday 14 November at Awapuni.

1.57 p.m. R3 1 Scott Base  (5 g Dalghar - Extra Celestial) - Rosie Myers; having his first start for the stable after two preparatory trials to 880 metres. He sprang to light winning the $1m 2018 Karaka Million 3YO Classic (Restricted Listed, 1600m), and last season won the Wellington Guineas (Gr. 2, 1400m) and finished fourth in the Livamol Classic (Gr. 1, 2040m). Destined to go further, he possesses a class factor and resumes in the $35,000 Open 1200 metres carrying 60kgs.





2.32 p.m. R4 5 Luminous (4 m Reliable Man - Keenly) - Chelsea Burdan (a3); proved too smart winning over 1800 metres in September at Taupo, before finding heavy conditions too testing in the Rating 82 2000 metres on 12 October at Matamata. Given time (33 days), she drops in grade for the $25,000 Rating 72 2100 metres and has weight relief to 56kgs. Third last season in the Royal Stakes (Gr. 2, 2000m), she can prove competitive if appreciative of the course at her first attempt.





3.42 p.m. R6 12 Meteoric Lass  (5 m Stratum - Benatar) - Chelsea Burdan (a3); fought hard off the trail for fourth in the Rating 72 1200 metres on 25 October at Tauranga, and contests the $25,000 Rating 72 1400 metres. Able to handle give in the ground, she is a genuine competitor and aided by weight relief to 53.5kgs. 





4.52 p.m. R8 8 Mongolianconqueror  (5 g Ocean Park - Queen Rania) - Rosie Myers; closed strongly against a smart field when resuming in the Open 1400 metres on 26 October at Ellerslie, and contests the $35,000 Open 1500 metres. Beaten a nose in the New Zealand Derby (Gr. 1, 2400m), he appears ideally placed to race well from barrier one and carries minimum weight (54kgs).
