Te Akau Awapuni Preview

 

Te Akau Racing has three horses entered on Friday 12 November at Awapuni.

Weather: fine, track: Dead4, rail: out 3 metres 800m - 400m, remainder out 7 metres (inside bend). 6mls rain forecast Friday. 

 

1.13 p.m. R2 5 Espionage (3 c Savabeel - Bayrock) - Ryan Elliot; sustained a big finish to claim victory when trialling on 14 October at Taupo, and made ground from last on debut in Maiden 3YO 1000 metres on 28 October at Te Aroha. With addition of side winkers, he receives chance to improve given luck from barrier 12 in $15,000 Maiden 1200 metres. 

1.48 p.m. R3 3 Top Brass (6 g Epaulette - Highlight) - Danielle Johnson; produced a big fresh-up run for second after leading Rating 74 1200 metres on 16 October at Hastings, and steps up in $40,000 Open 1200 metres. A tough customer, he rates a top three chance from barrier two.

2.23 p.m. R4 8 Pure Imagination (3 c Darci Brahma - Granadilla) - Danielle Johnson; looked good winning on debut over 1200 metres in September at Te Rapa. No joy on poly-track second-up, and fifth off a tough trip in a 3YO 1300 metres on 16 October at Hastings. Dropping in class for $30,000 Rating 65 1200 metres, he can improve with right trip from barrier nine.
