Te Akau New Zealand has two horses racing on Friday 6 April at Awapuni.
As on Thursday 5 April the conditions were: fine and Dead5, rail out 3 metres. No rain forecast.
2.49 p.m. R5 2 Devil May Care (4 g Lonhro - Devil's Song) - Danielle Johnson; won effortlessly at the trials on 5 February at Cambridge, before whistling around from back in the field to win untouched, in the fastest final 600m (35.1) on the day, when resuming in the Maiden Colts & Geldings 1200 metres on 14 March at Matamata. Previously, he had recorded two thirds and a second from three starts in his first campaign. Likely to be ridden patiently again from a wide draw (13) in the $22,500 Rating 65 1200 metres, he has the form and ability to threaten and Johnson rode the Quaddie here last Saturday, including Te Akau stable-mates Avantage (Fastnet Rock) in the Sires' Produce Stakes (Gr. 1, 1400m) and Our Abbadean (Lookin' At Lucky) in the Awapuni Gold Cup (Gr. 2, 2000m).
3.24 p.m. R6 2 Remington (3 g Darci Brahma - Kudamm) - Tegan Newman (a3); finished strongly on debut for second at Gisborne, following with a bold showing to win the Maiden 1200 metres on 25 February at Wairoa. He then ran a very good second in the Rating 65 1400 metres on 12 March at Hawera. With blinkers on and weight relief to 56kgs, he has the right credentials to rate an each way chance in the $22,500 Rating 65 1400 metres.
