Te Akau Awapuni Preview
15 November, 2018
Te Akau New Zealand has two horses racing on Thursday 15 November at Awapuni.
As on Wednesday 14 November the conditions were: fine and Dead4, rail out 6 metres. No rain forecast Wednesday, showers Thursday morning.
2.12 p.m. R4 14 Qiji Crystal (3 f Per Incanto - Moss Lady) - Danielle Johnson; staged a big effort for third after being awkwardly away when trialling on 1 November at Te Aroha, and debuts from barrier four in the $10,000 Maiden 3YO 1200 metres. The first foal of an Authorized mare, from the family of successful stallion Mossman (Success Express), the pedigree has left a range of horses that sprint and stay. On her latest trial performance, she shapes as an each way prospect.
3.22 p.m. R6 7 Gris Dame (4 m Reliable Man - Double Babu) - Danielle Johnson; was freshened following a resuming run on slow ground in August at Te Rapa, and with the addition of blinkers she meets a strong field in the $25,000 Rating 72 1400 metres. A Maiden winner over 1400 metres last November and stakes placed in the Eight Carat Classic (Gr. 2, 1600m), she seems destined to excel over more distance but has the ability to prove competitive first up.
