Te Akau Racing has four horses entered on Sunday 6 October at Awapuni.

1:46 p.m. R3 4 Knowledge Is Power (3 g Written Tycoon – Hectopascal) – Lily Sutherland (a1); he raced ungenerously early and was held together in the straight to finish fourth when trialling on 19 September at Rotorua. Resuming in the $18,500 Maiden 3YO 1000 metres, he was previously a stylish trial winner, and receives the opportunity today to resume with solid showing. Fixed odds: $6.00 & $1.45.

2:58 p.m. R5 3 Beau Brummell (4 g Embellish – Fashion Forward) – Craig Grylls; he faced the breeze outside the leader and fought solidly for fourth when resuming in the Rating 75 1550 metres on 18 September at Cambridge (poly-track), won by stable-mate Stonybreck. Contesting the $18,500 Rating 75 2140 metres, he shapes to appreciate the step up in distance and rates a top three chance as he competes en route to our southern stable where he enjoyed good success last season. Fixed odds: $3.60 & $1.45. 

3:33 p.m. R6 1 Time Is King (4 g Darci Brahma – Tiffany’s Time) – Craig Grylls; he dominantly won the Rating 60 1200 metres on 11 September at Riccarton (poly-track), and contests the $18,500 Rating 65 1200 metres. Heading north from that winning campaign, he has been a dual winner on poly-tracks and brings right form to rate a top three chance. Fixed odds: $4.60 & $1.70. 

4:05 p.m. R7 2 Moon Rocket (4 g Merchant Navy – Moonlover) – Craig Grylls; he stretched out well from beyond midfield for second in the $18,500 Rating 65 1400 metres on 11 September at Riccarton (poly-track), and contests the corresponding event. Ab winner over 1400 metres on the poly-track surface, he too is heading back to Te Akau's northern base, is racing solidly and presents as a top three chance. Fixed odds: $3.80 & $1.55.
