3:15 p.m. R5 1 Brazen Affair (4 m Brazen Beau – Southern Romance) – Opie Bosson; she came off the trail and finished strongly to win the Rating 75 970 metres here on 18 June, has been given time to freshen (51 days), and contests the $17,000 Rating 67 970 metres. While she is down in grade, she goes up in weight from 56.5kg to 59kg for this assignment. She has recorded a first, two second and one third placing from four starts on the course, has drawn the ace, has the champion rider aboard and is a serious top three contender, as the market price reflects.  Fixed odds: $1.35 & $1.00.

3:47 p.m. R6 11 Hayate (7 m Maurice – Vamoose) – Tayla Mitchell (a1); she travelled midfield and was held up before running on belatedly in the Rating 67 2000 metres here on 23 July, and contests the $25,000 Rating 70 2000 metres. She finished strongly for a course/distance second here in May, and is also a dual course winner to 2000 metres. She comes into this assignment a very fit mare, enjoys weight relief to 53kg, and is handily drawn (4) in what shapes to be a strong field. Fixed odds: $26.00 & $5.50.
