Te Akau Cambridge Midweek Preview
Date: 29 Aug 2023
Te Akau Racing has three horses entered on Wednesday 30 August at Cambridge.
Weather: fine, track: poly-track, rail: true.
1:07 p.m. R2 5 Hayate (5 m Maurice – Vamoose) – Niranjan Parmar (a2); she was given the perfect trip by Parmar when winning the Rating 60 1550 metres here on 16 August, posting the fastest last 600m (34.6) in the process, and contests the $18,500 Rating 65 1550 metres. With weight relief to 55kg, she rates a top three chance.
3:29 p.m. R6 2 Dignitosa (4 m Xtravagant – Infra Dig) – Opie Bosson; she worked hard on the pace in the Rating 65 970 metres here on 13 July, and did not receive all favours on Heavy9 going in the Rating 65 1200 metres on 12 August at Te Rapa. She had shown a liking for the poly-track and receives the opportunity to improve from barrier one in the $18,500 Rating 60 970 metres with the top rider engaged - the first of two to contest this event for the stable.
3:29 p.m. R6 5 Luxuriant (6 m Iffraaj – Opulent) – Niranjan Parmar (a2); she ran the fastest last 600m (34.8) for second in the Rating 60 970 metres on 26 July, and made a wide run from last to finish fourth in the Rating 60 1300 metres on 16 August, both here at Cambridge. With weight relief to 55.5kg, she too looks a top three prospect from barrier two in the $18,500 Rating 60 970 metres.
