Te Akau Cambridge Midweek Preview

Te Akau Racing has seven horses entered on Wednesday 14 June at Cambridge.

Weather: fine, track: poly-track, rail: true.

11:57 a.m. R1 10 Too Classy (3 f Puccini - Classy Choice) - Niranjan Parmar (2); she received an economical trip but was unable to capitalise when resuming in the Maiden 3YO 1300 metres here on 17 May. She requires a ton of luck from her wide draw (13) in the $14,000 Maiden 1550 metres.

1:07 p.m. R3 2 Final Red (2 g Burgundy - Tad Infinitum) - Niranjan Parmar (2); he positioned handily but was unable to quicken on a Heavy10 track when resuming in the Maiden 2YO 1200 metres on 14 May at Matamata, and contests the $14,000 NZB Insurance Pearl Series Maiden 2YO 1300 metres. He receives the opportunity to improve if appreciative of of the poly-track at his first attempt - the first of two juveniles lining up for the stable.

1:07 p.m. R3 6 Coselli (2 f Fastnet Rock - Tantalus) - Craig Grylls; she finished strongly for third in a trial on 26 May at Waipa, and debuts in the $14,000 NZB Insurance Pearl Series Maiden 2YO 1300 metres (eligible $13,000 bonus). Handily drawn (4), she shapes to prove competitive if she handles the poly-track surface.

2:54 p.m. R6 2 Pokuru Show (3 g Vadamos - Mystery Show) - Joe Kamaruddin (a); he did well to come from last when resuming in the Maiden 970 metres on 17 May and again circled from last for fourth in the corresponding event on 31 May, both here at Cambridge. He receives opportunity for further improvement in the $14,000 Maiden 970 metres, which featured another stable duo.

2:54 p.m. R6 6 French Rose (3 f Burgundy - Paraiba) - Niranjan Parmar (2); she fought well for fourth when resuming in the $14,000 Maiden 970 metres here on 17 May, and contests the same event. She rates a top three chance from the handy barrier two.

4:04 p.m. R8 5 Primo Vino (3 g Savabeel - Vinorules) - Joe Kamaruddin (a); he made up a lot of ground for second when resuming in the Maiden 1550 metres on 17 May and ran on from rear in the corresponding event on 31 May when sent out as favourite, both here at Cambridge. He appears suited stepping up in distance for the $14,000 Maiden 2000 metres and is ideally drawn (2).

4:04 p.m. R8 6 Rare Company (3 g Savabeel - Fast Company) - Ryan Elliot; he finished fifth in the Maiden 1550 metres here on 31 May and likewise steps up in the $14,000 Maiden 2000 metres. He appears capable of improving from the handy barrier four.
