11:28 a.m. R2 6 Brazen Affair (3 f Brazen Beau – Southern Romance) –Vinnie Colgan; she was desperately unlucky resuming when finishing second in the Rating 68 970 metres on 21 May and it was the same story when she finished strongly for close second on 4 June, both here on the poly-track, while running the fastest last 600m in each. Contesting the $17,000 Rating 75 970 metres, she has drawn the ace, and rates a top three chance (that's her in the main photo). Fixed odds: $2.70 & $1.35. 

1:42 p.m. R6 2 Akenehi (4 m Fastnet Rock – Igraine) – Michael McNab; she was unable to threaten from a handy position on Heavy10 in the Rating 65 1300 metres on 31 May at Te Rapa, and drops in grade for the $17,000 Rating 60 1550 metres. Ideally drawn (2), she has undoubted ability, but is yet to race on the poly-track and much depends on how that handles that first attempt on the synthetic surface. Fixed odds: $3.20 & $1.45.
