Te Akau Cambridge Midweek Preview

Te Akau Racing has two horses entered on Wednesday 30 July at Cambridge (poly-track)

Cambridge:

Weather: raining, track: poly-track, rail: true.

12:34 p.m. R1 1 Colonel Warden (3 g Russian Revolution – Moralto) – Craig Grylls; he quickened clear to win his first poly-track start in a Rating 60 1400 metres on 8 June at Awapuni, and raced solidly when jumping up in grade to the Rating 92 1300 metres here on 10 July. Contesting the $17,000 Rating 65 1550m, he appears suited to stepping up in distance but he requires a lot of luck from the outside gate (11). Fixed odds: $5.00 & $1.80.

2:54 p.m. R5 4 Knowledge Is Power (3 g Written Tycoon – Hectopascal) – Craig Grylls; he ran the fastest last 600m (33.4) for fourth in the Rating 73 1000 metres on 22 June at Awapuni (poly-track), and was unfortunately tightened for room when finishing a close fifth in the Rating 76 970 metres here on 10 July. Contesting the $17,000 Rating 70 970m, he faces a similar field and rates a top three chance from barrier three. Fixed odds: $4.00 & $1.45.
