5:40 p.m. (NZ) - 3:40 p.m. (Vic) R7 9 Bellatrix Star (4 m Star Witness – Alana’s Party) – Craig Williams; she displayed readiness to resume with a strong jump out win on 29 June at Cranbourne, also with Craig Williams aboard, and contests the A$200,000 Group 3 Sportsbet Sir John Monash Stakes (1100m). Among her four stakes' wins, she was victorious in the Group 2 Schillaci Stakes (1100m) here as three-year-old, but she has had to overcome a lengthy injury break before racing again - so today is important to assess where her future may lie. She has handled heavy footing in a jump out win, three of her five career wins have come on soft ground, and she undoubtedly has the ability to prove competitive but will need luck from her wide draw (10) - she certainly has the man in the saddle to mitigate that.
