Te Akau Counties Thursday Preview

Te Akau New Zealand has two horses racing on Thursday 20 June at Pukekohe.

2.17 p.m. R7 2 Shebringsmerubies(3 f Sebring - Run Away Ruby) - Joe Kamaruddin (a4); fought solidly for fourth, running good time (34.1) for the last 600m, in the Maiden 1400 metres on 9 May at Woodville, and continued the form when finishing second on dead ground in the Maiden 1400 metres on 26 May at Hawera. Stepping up in the $10,000 NZB Pearl Series Maiden 1600 metres (eligible $11,500 bonus), with weight relief to 52.5kgs, she should race well in a field sporting plenty of good form. 

3.27 p.m. R9 3 Bojangles (5 g Roc de Cambes - Stever House) - Alysha Collett; made ground for fourth when resuming in April on heavy footing in the Rating 65 1400 metres at Rotorua, and closed strongly for fifth in the Rating 65 1400 metres on 26 May at Hawera. A winner on slow and heavy footing, he gets a chance from barrier three to perform well in an even field.
