Te Akau Cranbourne Friday Night Preview
5 December, 2025
Te Akau Racing has five horses entered on Friday 5 December at Cranbourne (Victoria). ?
Cranbourne:
Weather: overcast, track: Good4, rail: out 6 metres. No rain forecast.
8:15 p.m. (NZ) - 6:15 p.m. (Vic) R1 7 Measure Of Time (3 g Written Tycoon – Lipari) – Beau Mertens; he finished fourth after racing handily on debut in the Maiden 3YO 1350 metres on 16 November at Donald, and contests the A$60,000 Maiden 1400 metres. He has been working well and this is a good opportunity for him to improve further if he gets a decent trip from his tricky gate (9). NZ TAB fixed odds: $5.50 & $2.00.
8:45 p.m. (NZ) - 6:45 p.m. (Vic) R2 13 Veomas (3 g I Am Invincible – Midnight Revels) – Beau Mertens; he sustained a strong gallop after leading throughout to win a trial on 20 November at Caulfield, and contests the A$60,000 Maiden 3YO 1200 metres. He finished second at his previous start in the Maiden 1450 metres on 13 October at Kilmore, is perfectly drawn (3) and looks a serious top four prospect. NZ TAB fixed odds: $11.00 & $2.90.
10:15 p.m. (NZ) - 8:15 p.m. (Vic) R5 7 Jealous (5 m Nicconi – Jujube) – Daniel Stackhouse; she ran home strongly for third in the Benchmark 62 2025 metres here on 31 October, and was then third again in the Benchmark 66 2500 metres on 14 November at Pakenham. Contesting the A$60,000 Benchmark 66 2580 metres, she has recorded three wins to 1800 metres, is racing well and is more than capable of delivering a result. NZ TAB fixed odds: $8.00 & $2.70.
10:45 p.m. (NZ) - 8:45 p.m. (Vic) R6 3 Stage ‘n’ Screen (4 m Ace High – Inthespotlight) – Rose Hammond (a3); she fought hard for third when resuming in the Benchmark 66 1200 metres on 7 November at Pakenham, and on a track that was downgraded to a Heavy8. Contesting the A$60,000 Benchmark 66 1400 metres, she is a dual winner over 1200 metres, who has proven competitive in strong fields. The step to 1400 metres should suit her perfectly and she looks a realistic top four chance. NZ TAB fixed odds: $7.00 & $2.10.
11:15 p.m. (NZ) - 9:15 p.m. (Vic0 R7 9 Our Paramour (4 m Contributer – Victory Parade) – Daniel Stackhouse; she travelled three back on the inner and finished well for fourth in the Benchmark 66 1600 metres on 19 November at Caulfield. Contesting the A$60,000 Benchmark 66 1600 metres, she recorded a strong third in the Crown Oaks Preview 1800 metres before winning her Maiden over 2025 metres here last season and ,with the former Te Akau apprentice engaged, jumping from barrier six, she can be right in the thick of things here. NZ TAB fixed odds: $12.00 & $3.50.
