Te Akau Dargaville Preview

Te Akau New Zealand has two horses entered for the eight race programme on Friday 17 April  at Dargaville.

As on Thursday 16 April the conditions were: overcast and Dead5, rail true.

12.57 p.m. R2 7 Atua (3 g Murtajill - Silent Smytzer) - Mark Du Plessis; drops back in distance to contest the Maiden 1000 metres, with gear changes since last racing: blinkers and nose band off, tongue tie and ear covers on, in an attempt to keep him calm prior to the race. The plan is to slide forward from a wide barrier and hopefully the changes will bring about an improved performance.

3.17 p.m. R6 11 Frock (3 f Road to Rock - Mya) - Matt Cameron; produced another game effort with a close fourth on March 27 on the 1950 metres on Dead5 footing at Rotorua, and contests the Maiden 2000 metres from barrier seven. Her consistency, following three fourths in a row, deserves further reward.
