Te Akau: Double Black Type Whammy

Te Akau NZ trainer Jason Bridgman kicks two black type goals today at Awapuni.

We could not be more proud - and stories on the day to come!

We are celebrating the tremendous success of Jason today as he took four horses to Awapuni and TWO will return home tonight as black type winners

The first was Burgundy - Darci Brahma's three quarter brother - he dug deep after being annoyed through most of the $50,000 Listed Fairdale/Goodwood Studs' Flying Mile over 1400m - a brilliant performance fresh after he was headed to fight back - huge heart and courage for Matt Cameron.

Then our relatively new recruit - Champion Singapore galloper Better Than Ever built on some superb top class place form here to take line honours in the $85,000 Group 2 Lawnmaster Awapuni Gold Cup. Hayden Tinsley rode him a treat, like the best horse in the race - and he was!

All this on top of Mark's thee wins last night and potentially more to come tomorrow.
