Te Akau Echuca Sunday Preview

Te Akau Racing has three horses entered on Sunday 30 August at Echuca (Victoria).

Echuca:

Weather: fine, track: Heavy9, rail: true. No rain forecast.

3:30 p.m. (NZ) - 1.30 p.m. (Vic) R2 6 Fully Funded (4 m Snitzel – Bright Path) – Jake Noonan; she finished strongly down the outside to win a jump out on 17 August at Cranbourne, and resumes in the A$32,000 Maiden 1000 metres. Placed in two of three starts in her first campaign, she looked good winning a jump out on heavy ground recently - one of two in the race for the stable, and shapes to race well first-up. NZ TAB fixed odds: $3.00 & $1.40.

3:30 p.m. (NZ) - 1:30 p.m. (Vic) R2 8 Big Trouble (3 f So You Think – Kylia) – Jett Stanley; she finished a close third after contesting the pace in a jump out on 3 August at Cranbourne, and debuts in the Maiden 1000 metres. Her dam Kylia (Mr. Greeley) has left four winners from 1600m – 2100m, which suggests the filly will appreciate further in due course, but she showed pace in her jump out and ideally drawn (2) for this starting point in her career. NZ TAB fixed odds: $10.00 & $2.70.

6:00 p.m. (NZ) - 4:00 p.m. (Vic) R6 3 Astari (4 g Starspangledbanner – Belzella) – Liana Wood (a3); she found the line without threatening in the Benchmark 62 1100 metres on 3 August at Pakenham (poly-track), and contests the A$22,000 Benchmark 56 1000 metres. A winner over 1100 metres on good ground, she has the plus of weight relief to 58.5kg, is a consistent performer, and brings the right form to race well if appreciative of the heavy footing. TAB fixed odds: $4.60 & $1.70.
