Te Akau Egmont Preview
9 March, 2014
Te Akau New Zealand has two horses entered for the eight-race programme on Monday March 10 at Hawera.
As on Wednesday March 5 the conditions were: fine and Good3, rail true.
3:15pm R5 6 Cold Snap (5 m Pins - Forty Two Below) - Rosie Myers; resumed from a spell on Feb. 26 in the Benchmark 75 1200 metres at Te Rapa, run in 1:09.95. Better for the outing, she steps up in distance to 1400 metres and should receive a favourable trip from barrier four. She is a solid performer at best and can lift to produce an encouraging run.
4:26pm R7 7 Stylee (4 m Pins - Arletty) - Rosie Myers; has recovered from a hoof abscess since closing off in good style for fourth in a strong form race on Jan. 18, in the Benchmark 65 1600 metres at Pukekohe. Three starts ago, resuming from a 277-day break on Dec. 2, she made plenty of ground for third in a good field over 1400 metres Te Aroha. She appears nicely placed to prove competitive from barrier four in the Benchmark 65 1600 metres for fillies and mares.
