Te Akau Egmont Preview

Te Akau New Zealand has two horses entered for the eleven race programme on Sunday 29 May at Hawera.

As on Saturday 28 May the conditions were: overcast and Slow8, rail true. 10mls forecast overnight and race day.

2.55 p.m. R9 2 Rocksun (3 g Fastnet Rock - Beyond the Sunset) - Matt Cameron; was a class above his rivals when winning the Maiden 1400 metres by five and a quarter lengths on Slow7 at Otaki. Up in grade for the Rating 65 1400 metres, he will be strongly supported to repeat the performance.

3.29 p.m. R10 4 Esprit De Corps (3 g Bel Esprit - Vercors) - Matt Cameron; worked through the run before finishing fifth in the Maiden 1600 metres on Slow7 at Otaki, and drops back in distance to 1400 metres. He trained well through the week with stable-mate Rocksun and any improvement would make him competitive.
