Te Akau Ellerslie Preview

Te Akau New Zealand has two horses entered for the ten race premier programme on the third and final day of Auckland Cup Week, Saturday 7 March at Ellerslie.

As on Friday 6 March the conditions were: overcast and Good3, rail out 4 metres.

1.05 p.m. R2 4 Darci's Dream (3 f Darci Brahma - Sweet Dreams Baby) - Matt Cameron; last raced in the Royal Stakes (Gr. 2, 2000m) here on January 1 and resumes off 65-days in the Rating 75 1200 metres. Indicating her quality by finishing runner-up in the 1000 Guineas (Gr. 1, 1600m) last November, she has recorded two of her three wins in a fresh state, and a suitable amount of give in the ground will see her take her place.

2.15 p.m. R4 10 Vive La Difference (3 f Choisir - L'Artiste) - Vinnie Colgan; looked a certainty beaten on January 9 in the Rating 65 1300 metres at Tauranga, and followed with a game effort for fourth to Platinum Witness (California Dane) in the Desert Gold Stakes (Gr. 3, 1600m) on January 24 at Trentham. Finishing second in a recent trial at Matamata, with this rider aboard, she contests the Rating 65 2100 metres. Ideally drawn in barrier two, she too is looking for forecast rain to ease the ground.
