Te Akau New Zealand has one horse entered for the eight race programme on Saturday January 9 at Ellerslie.
As on Friday January 8 the conditions were: drizzling and Good3, rail out 9 metres. 17mls is forecast for Friday in Auckland but no rain thereafter.
4.09 p.m. R7 8 Duchess Kate (3 f Savabeel - Royal Prize) - Michael Coleman; displayed terrific acceleration, after weaving through from tenth on the rail, to win the $20,000 Rating 65 1400 metres here on Dec. 28 and steps up in distance to contest the $20,000 3YO 1500 metres. Although meeting a stronger field, overall, she possesses the form, athleticism, and pedigree to rate a top three chance again.
