Te Akau Racing has three horses entered on Saturday 21 September at Ellerslie.

3:30 p.m. R6 1 Cognito (5 g So You Think – Lady Primrose) – Triston Moodley (a2); he sustained a strong gallop for second in a trial on 6 August at Te Rapa, and was not asked for too much when finishing fourth in a second trial on 21 August at Taupo. Resuming in the $55,000 Rating 75 1600 metres, he won the Group 2 Wellington Guineas over 1400m and has a lot of upside - he raced very well early last season, has weight relief to 60kg, possesses the ability to race in a fresh state and is handily drawn (4) the first of two stable runners in the event. Fixed odds: $5.50 & $2.25.

3:30 p.m. R6 3 What You Wish For (4 g Embellish – Grand Wish) – Vinnie Colgan; he came from last to win impressively when resuming in the Rating 65 1300 metres on 21 August at Taupo, and also contests the $55,000 Rating 75 1600 metres alongside his aforementioned stablemate. He ended his previous campaign following the Group 1 NZ Derby and was an impressive two-year-old winner over 1300 metres. Stakes' placed, he positions as a top three contender but will need a lot to go his way with a wide gate (12). Fixed odds: $7.00 & $2.70.

4:05 p.m. R7 1 Campionessa (7 m Contributer – Bella Carolina) – Ngakau Hailey (a3); she ran home well for a staying mare over a sprint trip when trialling on 21 August at Taupo, and resumes in the $65,000 Open Handicap 1400 metres. She won two Group 2 races before success in the Group 1 Zabeel Classic over 2050m and subsequently won the Group 2 Peter Young Stakes over 1800m at Caulfield last season. A previous course winner, she has key weight relief to 59.5kg, and has the ability to prove competitive fresh-up from barrier two. Fixed odds: $7.50 & $2.40
