12.52 p.m. R1 1 Equinox (3 c Exceed and Excel - Our Ella Belle) - Opie Bosson; was given time after finishing fourth here in the Rating 82 1100 metres on 30 November and had an exhibition gallop with subsequent winning stable-mate Probabeel (Savabeel) on 28 December at Matamata. Stakes' placed second to consequent 2000 Guineas (Gr. 1, 1600m) winner Catalyst (Darci Brahma) earlier this season in the El Roca - Sir Colin Meads Trophy (Listed, 1200m) at Hastings, he can act fresh and rates a top three chance $25,000 3YO 1200 metres. Fixed odds: $4.40 & $1.40.
12.52 p.m. R1 3 Romantic Lady (3 f Power - Romantic Time) - Cameron Lammas; completed a hat-trick of wins in the Rating 72 1200 metres on 18 December at Matamata, the last two with Lammas aboard, and contests the $25,000 3YO 1200 metres. She ran the fastest 600m each time and capable of measuring up from barrier one. Fixed odds: $4.80 & $1.45.
2.37 p.m. R4 1 Bordeaux Le Rouge (2 g Burgundy - De La Vere) - Michael McNab; showed pace to lead when finishing second on debut in the 2YO 1000 metres on 9 November at Te Rapa, and freshened after winning the Maiden 2YO 1100 metres here on 30 November. He has course form, blinkers on, shows precocity, and ideally drawn (2) in the $22,500 2YO 1200 metres. Fixed odds: $6.50 & $1.95.
3.47 p.m. R6 7 Mongolianconqueror (5 g Ocean Park - Queen Rania) - Michael McNab; kept winding up into fourth on 29 December in the New Plymouth Cup (Open, 1800m), and contests the $40,000 Open 2100 metres. Beaten a nose here in the New Zealand Derby (Gr. 1, 2400m), he brings the right form to rate a top four contender with the right trip from barrier nine. Fixed odds: $9.50 & $3.00.
4.57 p.m. R8 3 Oceana Lad (3 g Ocean Park - Excuse O') - Opie Bosson; came from last with a strong finish for fourth in the Maiden 1400 metres on 27 December at Rotorua, and contests the $10,000 Maiden 1600 metres. With the pedigree to appreciate stepping in distance, he rates an each way chance from barrier three.
