Te Akau track work highlights - Friday July 4

Course proper, right-handed (Heavy)

Preparing for the Maiden High-weight 2200 metres next Wednesday 9 July at Te Aroha Redoute's Chance, with race day rider Daniel Miller aboard, was partnered by 3 g King's Chapel - Sea Rhythm (Hercock) over 1600 metres at three-quarter pace.

Fast Fiction (Miller) and My Fiancée (Hercock) worked over 1000 metres in 1:14, last 600 in 40.8. Second fresh-up, Fast Fiction  is scheduled for the Benchmark 65 1200 metres on Thursday July 17 at Hastings, and My Fiancée would look to the Maiden 1400 metres at the same meeting.

Two-Year-Old Grass track, three-quarter pace (Heavy):

Sequitur (Roff - pictured below) and 2 f Savabeel - Trocair (Hercock) went together over 1000 metres. Irish Mystic (Hercock - right main picture) and Opulent (Roff - middle main picture) worked over 800 metres, followed at an interval by Bettorock (Miller - left main picture) going 600 metres. Virtuous (Richards) and Rock ‘N' Sox (Kilinc) went 600 metres.

Sand track:

Imperium (Richards) pace worked over two rounds, as did Latin Rose (Ellis). In solo work, Chambord (Miller), King's Rock (Miller), Spellbinder (Hazlett), and 3 g Ekraar - Cape Win (Miller) all did half pace striding work. Equanimity (Richards) and 2 f Encosta De Lago - Grand Echezeaux (Hazlett) trot and cantered together.

All-weather track:

Esprit De Corps (Richards) and 1 c Fastnet Rock - Festival Princess (Hazlett) worked against the rail, as did 1 c Fastnet Rock - Morgalicious (Richards) and 1 c Pins - Laurinel Princess (Kilinc).
