Te Akau track work highlights - Friday July 18 -

Course proper (Slow9):

The stakes' winning and Group One placed Spellbinder (Hercock - pictured below with Kate Hercock aboard and trainer Jason Bridgman) worked solo against the rail on ground with a hard frost in effect. She recorded smart times over 800 metres in 50.3, and the last 600m in 36.2. Spellbinder (O'Reilly) is set to trial on Tuesday Aug. 5 at Te Teko, ahead of a possible resuming run in the weight-for-age Waikato Stud Foxbridge Plate (Gr. 3, 1200m) on Aug. 16 at Te Rapa.

Sand track:

Also gearing up to trial at Te Teko, Chambord (Miller) and Wolfwhistle (Hercock) worked together over 800 metres in 55.4, last 600m in 40.2. Osmunda (Hercock) went solo at three-quarter pace over 800 metres, as did Show No Emotion (Hercock) and Rapid Gain (Miller).
