Te Akau track work highlights - Friday July 25 -
Course proper, right-handed (Slow):
King's Rock (Miller) and Wolfwhistle (Allen) worked over 1000 metres, quickening to run their final 600m in 39.6. In similar work, Jewels Gift (Miller) and Spellbinder (Allen) came their last 600 metres in 38.2.
Three-quarter pace on the sand track:
Secret Whisper (Roff) worked solo over 1000 metres, as did Show No Emotion (Hercock). Alchemy's Flight (Allen) went solo over 800 metres, as did Highly Likely (Richards), Longbeach (Allen), Sunset Pass (Miller), Urban Angel (Miller). Continuum (Ellis) pace worked.
Three-quarter pace over 800 metres on the Two-Year-Old Grass Track:
Rockfast (Miller) worked solo, as did Bordeaux (Richards), Smashing (Samuelsson), Vive La Difference (Samuelsson), Zarules (Miller - pictured two weeks ago - below). Bettorock (Miller) and Opulent (Richards) worked together. Flaming (Roff) was partnered by Irish Mystic (Allen). Light Source (Samuelsson) and Virtuous (Richards) followed Frock (Allen).
The yearlings Windborne (1 f Darci Brahma - Sweet Dreams Baby) (Samuelsson) and 1 f Encosta De Lago - Love Diamonds (Hazlett - pictured two weeks ago - top) worked half pace over 300 metres on the all-weather track.
