Te Akau Friday Update

Another colt has the "All Sold" sign up!

Yesterday we sold the balance of the O'Reilly/Starbelly colt to one of my very special owners from Hong Kong.  Ronald is a great guy who we really enjoy training for. He spends most of the year travelling the world and is on a different continent most months of the year! He has a beautiful team of horses to race next season.

We only had 5mls of rain overnight but we hope the forecast of rain for Monday is accurate.  Cattle prices are on the increase again, luckily I am stocked up as store cattle prices will rise hopefully once the real rain arrives. There appears to be a world-wide shortage of beef.

Tomorrow I am off to the Te Rapa races and hope to win the Te Akau sponsored first race with Spellbinder. We also have runners at Trentham with two mares Angelica Hall and No Tricks hunting black type in the Listed Lightning Stakes and Group 2 Wellington Guineas respectively.

We wish Ray and Jill Coupland the best of luck with Another Coup in the New Zealand Oaks tomorrow. The sire of this filly is Darci Bramha who I purchased at Karaka while the dam is Ginger Nut Coup who I bought for Ray and Jill out of the Sydney Easter Sale for $300,000.  So I am proud that I bought both the father and mother of this very talented filly that Matt Cameron will ride tomorrow.

Another really good result for us tomorrow would be if Savaria wins - I bought her half sister now named Interstellar at the Ready To Run Sale for $140,000.

Tonight our attention turns to Singapore where Mark has some nice chances.

Have a great weekend.
