Te Akau Friday Update

We have had a terrific week at the Ready to Run Sale at Karaka.  There were 552 two year olds catalogued so buyers had plenty of choice.  In fact it would ben one of the largest catalogues we have seen!  All around the world Ready to Run sales all have a disappointing clearance rate and this sale was no different but it was still a very, very successful sale with lots of quality horses.

The Te Akau team of Mark Walker, Jamie Richards and myself bought 10 horses - nine colts and one filly - plus we have been given some really super types to train that were bought by other people.

We purchased the following:

Lot 30     Sebring colt for $120,000 - SOLD

Lot 41     Savabeel colt for $280,000 - SOLD

Lot 72     Rip Van Winkle colt for $230,000 - SOLD

Lot 147    I Am Invincible colt for $205,000 - ONLY 40% NOW AVAILABLE

Lot 179    Reliable Man filly for $125,000 - ONLY 10% NOW AVAILABLE

Lot 180    Ocean Park colt for $130,000 - SOLD

Lot 301    Burgundy colt for $50,000 - SOLD

Lot 436    Star Witness colt for $170,000 - SOLD

Lot 437    Ocean Park colt for $130,000 - ONLY 50% NOW AVAILABLE

Lot 474    Helmet colt for $80,000 - SOLD
We are currently selling shares in the I Am Invincible colt,  Lot 147 that I purchased for $205,000.  This stunning colt is out of a Flying Spur mare and what a great broodmare sire this stallion is.  This is a very fast colt that was an absolute "must by" on my list.  You can read more about him on our Yearlings and Shares page but he is a ripper.  If you are keen to be involved in him please ring me as soon as possible as shares in him are selling very quickly.

I Am Invincible x Court Flying colt Lot 147-1

Meanwhile back at the farm it must have rained every day this week but that is not bad news to a farmer in November!!  However it is frustrating I know for a horse trainer!  Gee we have some grass and as soon as the weather fines up we are making hay.

Have a great weekend and GO THE ALL BLACKS.
