Te Akau Friday Update
David writes:

This morning we sent nine young horses from Te Akau Stud to our Matamata stable - three were fillies that have just finished being broken in and six were horses that have been out spelling at the farm.  I love seeing how well they have done when they are set to depart our green pastures!

I have never experienced better conditions to spell horses - the grass is the best we have ever seen and it is still very mild and warm weather-wise.  The horses spelling have done exceptionally well and really have developed a bit more than normal.

Shares in the fillies that I bought in Sydney are selling very quickly - the Fastnet Rock filly is completely sold and only a couple of shares are now available in the balance.

They are certainly five beautiful fillies but one I can see winning quickly in the new season is our Zoustar filly - wow this filly blows me away watching her work each morning. The team that rides her says you could drink a cup of coffee while you ride her, she glides so smoothly.  Zoustar is going to be a very good stallion and already he has sired two stakes' winners from his first crop including the A$2 million Magic Millions' 2YO winner Sunlight.

All the trainers in Australia love the progeny of Zoustar and our filly has the added bonus of being out of a Fastnet Rock mare - have a look on our "Yearlings & Shares" page and you will see our video of this girl walking.  I haven't bought a better filly this year.  She is a belter - just a superb example of equine excellence!

We were all thrilled today to see Paul Richards, who joins the team next month, win a race today in Geelong, Australia with Mazzuro, a 3YO Rip Van Winkle gelding he prepares for the same owners as Natuzzi.

It's also a huge weekend for our Singapore trainer Mark Walker - he has a large team engaged across the weekend of racing tonight and Sunday at Kranji - good luck to Mark, Gus and Karen and the team!

There is also some great racing at Te Rapa tomorrow and we have guests coming to stay tomorrow and visitors all day Sunday!

Have a great weekend and enjoy the Royal Wedding!
