Te Akau Friday Update

WOW! What an exciting week it has been for Te Akau Racing!

Te Akau purchased eight horses from the Ready to Run Sale at Karaka this week and we have just welcomed them home to Te Akau Stud - they have literally just got off the horse float and they are all safely in their new, big paddocks here at the farm.

These are eight of the best types you would ever see, and want to be involved with!

The shares are selling so quickly - it's quite incredible.

Full details about all of our new horses are under our "Yearlings & Shares" page with photos and videos of each one either there, or to be posted today. Don't hesitate as literally, they will be sold before you know it.

Don't forget that the "hard work" has already be done with these horses from the ready to Run Sale - they are all broken in and won't be too far from racing.

We also purchased one horse (above) that will race from our Singapore stable - we expect him too, to sell very quickly.

This morning a new owner rang the stud and purchased a share as a Christmas present for his wife - and I told him "this could well be the very best present she has ever had"!

Remember too, we actually have gift vouchers available - so you can give the gift of a share, or an amount for training fees etc - the options are endless and Karyn wraps it all beautifully for you so the work is all done!

I thought, considering that the spend at the sale from Hong Kong was well down (as you'd expect given the events), the sale was one NZB and the vendors could be satisfied with.

Personally I thought the quality of bloodstock was of a very high standard and I am very confident that I have bought the best group of horses I have ever purchased from the Ready to Run Sale.

While we have been away at the sale this past week, the team at Te Akau Stud has done a fantastic job - we have sold a truck and trailer load of cattle each day. The cattle are killing out at very heavy weights and are making record prices. We also sold our cull ewes which also sold at record levels, making up to $193 each.

Next week it is time to start selling our lambs which are also selling at record levels. It has taken 40 years of farming for both beef and lamb to sell this well, so it has been a long time coming.
