Te Akau Friday Update

The shares in our horses from the Ready to Run sale have sold unbelievably quickly and we now only have one share left each in the Singapore bound Outreach/Poppy's Pond gelding and our Proisir gelding out of Maakel who will race in New Zealand.

The Outreach gelding (who we call "Dux") will race from our Singapore stable. He is currently in our stable at Matamata and all our trackwork riders who ride him say he gives them a 'wicked feel'. Our three-time Champion Singapore Trainer Mark Walker is really excited at the prospect of this two year old's arrival, likely to be in February. He will be targeting the lucrative two year old series with him.

The final 10% share in him is just $6,750 - a 5% share only $3,375.

The Proisir gelding has been spelling here at Te Akau Stud, and will be heading back into work next week. What a beautiful animal he is, and since the Ready to Run sale his sire Proisir has done exceptionally well - his headline act is the unbeaten Riodini who won the Group 3 Bonecrusher Stakes. Everyone who trains one of his offspring tells me they have a very nice Proisir at home or in their stable.

I thought this horse, who we have nicknamed "Faaz" was great buying and we are pretty excited to have him in the stable, and remember, there is only one share left in him.

The final 10% share is $8,000 +GST - a 5% share just $4,000 +GST.

As I predicted in my last update, the final share in the Ready to Run colt syndicate is all sold - I said the syndicate would be all gone in my last update and within 48 hours, that was the case. I would like to wish the investors in this syndicate all the very best of luck. They are two very exciting colts that we have in the stables and they are really turning heads already.

Our last yearling to sell from the Karaka Sale in January is having his first start at Awapunui tomorrow, and is a young horse that has impressed everyone in the stable. Named Perfect Scenario, this colt is not a natural 2YO and we will probably only give him three starts at two years of age, but boy, he does look like a 2000 Guineas' colt to my eye!

Perfect Scenario (below) is a very promising young horse, with a lovely pedigree. He is an Iffraaj colt out of Rosetti Bay. Iffraaj is a really good sire - don't forget, Melody Belle is out of an Iffraaj mare. This colt's mother is a really top mare by Pins called Rosetti Bay. She won eight races and is proving to be a top broodmare.

It is quite incredible how the 'last horse to sell' at almost every sale goes on to be a real performer on the track - some examples of this - Group 1 winners Avantage, Gingernuts, Sword of Osman - all the last or amongst the very last to sell. This colt was in fact the last to sell, so let's watch his space!

So if you are stuck for a Christmas present for your husband, wife, partner - or out of ideas you should buy a share in the Proisir gelding! We can email the gift voucher you to ensure you have it on time!!

We have Christmas shares already posted to Australia and across New Zealand, as well as a birthday or two but our lips are sealed!! There will be some very happy people come Christmas Day when they open their gift!!

Have a great weekend and GO THE TANGERINE!
