Te Akau Geelong Thursday Preview
3 December, 2025
Te Akau Racing has three horse entered on Thursday 4 December at Geelong (Victoria).
Geelong:
Weather: fine, track: Good4, rail: out 9 metres 1700m – 800m, remainder out 11 metres. No rain forecast.
3:30 p.m. (NZ) - 1:30 p.m. (Vic) R1 1 Golden Pulse (2 g Tivaci – Gold Fever) – Beau Mertens; he raced on pace and finished second in a jump out on 17 November at Cranbourne. Debuting in the A$42,500 Maiden 2YO 1147 metres, he is the half-brother to Te Akau bought and trained reigning Champion Two-Year-Old La Dorada (Super Seth). David Ellis also bought and trained his dam Gold Fever (Savabeel), the winner of the Group 2 Matamata Breeders’ Stakes (1200m). He is looking to make a positive race day debut in a small field. NZ TAB fixed odds: $11.00 & $2.25.
5:00 p.m. (NZ) - 3:00 p.m (Vic) R4 4 Measure Of Time (3 g Written Tycoon – Lipari) – Luke Currie; he finished fourth after racing handily on debut in the Maiden 3YO 1350 metres on 16 November at Donald, and contests the A$42,500 Maiden 1447 metres. This race is the ideal opportunity for him to improve further, but he requires a bit dose of luck from his wide draw (13). NZ TAB fixed odds: $4.20 & $1.70.
6:30 p.m. (NZ) - 4:30 p.m. (Vic) R7 7 Exuberance (4 m Savabeel – Miss Opulence) – Craig Williams; she wound up late after being shuffled back in the Benchmark 62 1107 metres here on 14 November, and contests the A$35,000 Benchmark 62 1147 metres. She staged a big run to place here on debut before winning her Maiden over 1200 metres. She also competed in Group Two and Listed races over 1400 metres last season, and does have the ability to be a realistic top three chance if the master rider can secure a decent trip from barrier eight. NZ TAB fixed odds: $3.50 & $1.35.
