Te Akau New Zealand has six horses racing on Sunday 16 February at Gisborne.
Weather: cloudy, track: Dead5, rail: true. No rain forecast.
1.30 p.m. R2 3 You're Welcome (4 g Camelot - Chorus of Angels) - Johnathan Parkes; stepped up to 2100 metres with a third on 27 January at Te Teko, and contests the $12,000 Maiden 2000 metres. Drawn the outside barrier (6), he rates a top three chance again.
2.05 p.m. R3 6 Enduring Love (4 m Camelot - Holy Moly) - Danielle Johnson;continued solid form when finishing second in the Maiden 1200 metres on 29 January at Hastings, and contests the $10,000 Maiden 2YO & Up 1200 metres. She has placed six from nine at the distance and ideally drawn (2) to race well again.
2.40 p.m. R4 5 Ristretto (4 m Makfi - Espresso Cavallo) - Danielle Johnson; found the line solidly for third off a steady tempo in the Rating 65 1200 metres on 9 January at Wanganui, and given time (38 days) she contests the $12,000 Rating 65 1200 metres. She rates an each way chance from barrier five.
2.40 p.m. R4 7 Vino Bella (3 f Burgundy - Pinstinct) - Chelsea Burdan (a3); peaked on her fresh-up run in the Rating 65 1200 metres on 24 January at Te Aroha, won by subsequent smart winner Acutus (Sepoy). Given a softer assignment in the $12,000 Rating 65 1200 metres and should go well with the right trip from barrier eight.
3.14 p.m. R5 7 Aromatic (3 f Sacred Falls - Vickezzchardonnay) - Danielle Johnson;was very solid through the trials stage before charging home for a debut second (fastest 600m: 34.7) in the Maiden 1200 metres on 27 January at Te Teko. She appears a strong chance from barrier two in the $10,000 Maiden 1400 metres.
3.49 p.m. R6 1 Beau Geste (5 g Pour Moi - Villa Wanda) - Chelsea Burdan (a3); had a decent hit-out when resuming in the Rating 65 1400 metres on 20 January at Otaki, won by stable-mate Spirit of Galway (Rip Van Winkle), and steps up in the $12,000 Rating 65 1600 metres.A capable staying type, winning twice to 2000 metres, he finished second over 1600 metres at the corresponding meeting last year.
